purpose of this web site is to provide a weather-based assessment
of the soybean rust threat North American soybean production
areas. Components of this analysis include:
- Demarcation
of soybean rust source areas in North America, South America
and Africa.
- Historical
analysis of the aerial movement of soybean rust from Africa
to South America.
- Weather-based
assessment of likely atmospheric pathways, regions of deposition,
and the timing of aerial transport of soybean rust from current
source regions in South America and Africa to North America.
The web
site also provides information on soybean rust epidemiology,
assumptions and parameters used in the aerobiology transport
model and links to a variety of other web sites with information
on soybean rust.
